Alright so I’m going to show you guys what I did for these crafts:

Bought this frame at Good Will for under a dollar. I originally wanted to just do the inside yellow and keep the gray border, but the spray paint kindof got everywhere and it just turned out to be a hassle.

So I had a paper towel by this to wipe the spray paint off my hands, and the wind blew it onto the frame and made these weird marks and when I tried spray painting over it, you could still tell. So I just did it all over and it ended up looking kindof cool.

I couldn’t figure out how to get the hooks into the frame to hold the necklaces so I just hooked them over the top. It looked great for recruitment, but it ended up being kindof a pain in the ass, so it’s currently being unused on the top shelf of my closet. I’m going to take it home to have my Dad help me over break. Let me know if you have any suggestions!

How to Make a Shared Room Cute (Sorority / Dorm Room)

So, when you share a room with 3 other people and have to deal with 2 bunk beds and numerous dressers and everyone’s shit, you have to make it cute, especially for sorority recruitment. My sorority house is a Historical Landmark, so we can’t paint or do anything to make it look more modern because it has too look like it originally did. I have a love-hate relationship with this fact because I loveeee modern decor.Β Here’s what I did to make my little niche cute.

Keep checking back to see the rest of what I did for my room!

You’re Da Bomb Favors

So I’m a dumbass and forgot to take a picture of my final product but this is what inspired me to make my You’re Da Bomb favors for all of our new pledges for Initiation.

We have this tradition where we set out little goodie bags and throughout our I-Week, the older members put all sorts of cute little goodies in there for all of the girls. It ranges from candy to notes to mixed-tape style cd’s, you name it. Here’s what I did:

I guess I’m not the only dumbass because I just noticed that the ones I was inspired by isn’t even grammatically correct. (Your the bomb) haha.

Broken / Thinspo

Yeah I’m feelin’ a little broken lately considering I sprained my ankle and it currently looks like there’s a tennis ball in it. Although it is better than it was a few days ago. I’m in such a rut because I couldn’t exactly enjoy the last few days of homecoming week and I’m going stir crazy from just sitting around.Β I just want to work out. And wear heeeeeels. (#TSM).

Luckily, I have 94 wonderful sisters to help me out πŸ™‚ But there’s nothin’ like getting pampered from my family. So I had to skip on on the end of Homecoming and head home for the rest of the weekend. I’m having a love-hate relationship with that decision. But having the top bunk on the third floor while Sig Ep comes in to wake us up in the middle of the night just didn’t scream fast ankle recovery to me.

So anyway, I’m pumped to be blogging again, even though I have no idea when I’m going to have this kind of time again. So here’s some new workout thinspiration! Remember to stay fit the healthy way πŸ™‚

The University of Minnesota Wins! (Obviously I’m Not Referring to a Sport…)

So this past semester I really struggled with trying to figure out what I wanted to do about my major and I came to the conclusion that I was putting my artistic talents to waste by studying linguistics. Don’t get me wrong it’s interesting, just not enough to pursue that as a career for my whole life. And honestly I’m the type of person who could get interested in anything. But I want to be able to be passionate about something. I took summer classes at the Art Institute and realized that I love design. Learning photoshop and illustrator was like the most awesome thing I’ve done in college yet. It made me annoyed of all of the bs liberal art gen ed’s that the U makes people take to suck as much money out of us as possible. I decided to transfer. This made me have to become an “inactive” member of AOII, which I was super upset about because I lived so far from campus this year that I wasn’t nearly as involved as I wanted to be. I had mixed feelings about everything because I seriously love the U and I love greek life, but I wouldn’t have been able to transfer to the design school with the grades I got this year. So I transferred.

But apparently, since they go to school year round, summer classes aren’t an option–they are a necessity. I had taken a may term, but wasn’t intending on taking the summer term because I knew I’d be home in Milwaukee for Summerfest and a bunch of weddings. So since they started summer term yesterday, I had to un-enroll and re-enroll at the next term–IN OCTOBER. I’m not trying to wait that long considering I had to totally start from scratch. So the last few days have been extremely long and nerve racking trying to figure out what I wanted to do. My dad was really set on me staying at the U and majoring in Italian because I’m already almost done with all those requirements. I figured I’d do that and minor in art, and then go to Grad School for animation or design or whatever it is I want to do. I’ve been really determined since I was little to learn Italian and learn about the culture. I’m proud of my heritage and I want to be able to teach my kids about it in the future, because my family hasn’t done much in terms of preserving our heritage. So I guess that’s the plan, stay at the U and get a degree in Italian with a minor in Art. I’m not exactly sure what I’ll do with that, most likely teach. I might get into translating for businesses or something. Someone in my family translates for an oil company and they make bannnnk. It’ll be nice to do something like that for a few years before I really get into design. So yeah that’s the story. I’m so incredibly happy that I can still be active in AOII now, because I was really looking forward to getting to know everyone better, and participating more, getting a position, getting a lil sis, recruitment, and all of the things I didn’t really get the most out of this past year. Mostly I’m super excited to live in Animal House with a bunch of my sisters. I really wanted to live-in AOII at some point, but this will be just as fun!

Well that’s it for now, keep checking back. I’ve been stumbling for inspiration as to how to decorate my room once I get back up to school, so there should be some good stuff up soon!
