Confidence

So the last few months have been pivotal for the changes I had planned on making in my life. I’m proud to say I have made a lot of key changes that have had extremely good results. The main issue that I’ve been dealing with is being resilient in the face of negative influences. I think the main thing I’ve learned is that if someone is always being negative and talking about what they hate about themselves/the world around them, that people are going to start believing them. If you hate yourself, everyone else is going to eventually as well. I know it’s not easy for some people to be confident, but I truly believe it’s the sole factor that will motivate you to do what you need/want to do.

If there’s anything I’ve learned in college / living in a house with 30+ girls, it’s that everyone is fuckin weird. And it’s so annoying that people get all hung up on their weirdness. Once you embrace how weird / embarrassing everything you do is, you’ll realize just how weird the world is, and it’s liberating as hell.

I truly feel that one you realize how awesome you are, other people will see it. That leads to strong friendships, good romantic relationships, lasting business connections, and overall you’ll get respect from anyone you meet.
Basically just decide what you want to be and do, and then rock it.

Charity Water

My friend Kristin (Kristin’s In Rome) and I have recently started a personal campaign for Charity:Water called Gelato’d In Rome. She is studying abroad in Rome, and I am working on the campaign stateside. The non-profit organization provides third-world countries with ways to get clean drinking water. This is something that I have become very passionate about, so we are trying to raise $1,000. That will help 50 people! I am asking for donations in ANY amount. Even a dollar can help. If you are unable to donate, please help us out by passing this information on to those around you who would be willing to donate. Here is the link to our campaign:

Falling into winter :)

It’s that time of year when everything is all happy and cliche and I’m not going to lie I’m one of those obnoxious people who gets super into it. I’m talking like Christmas Pandora has been playing in the quad since before Thanksgiving Break. I probably could’ve posted about halloween and Thanksgiving and stuff, and I’ll do that sometime, or maybe I’ll wait until next year. All I know is, I had an extremely successful Black Friday experience in which I acquired a new snowboard and it’s basically been the only thing on my mind ever since. Either way, I love this time of year, I love the fact that it’s almost my birthday, and I’m about to see friends and family and most importantly not have school for a month. Loveeee the sound of that.

I still have yet to decide on a major or anything. For now I just plan on staying in school forever.

I just have so many fricken awesome ideas of ways to make money but none of them involve any major in the college I’m in. I’m thinking I should just switch to business and go somewhere with some of my ideas and make money off that n then be a pilot or an artist or whatever it is I feel like doin at that time. It sucks that I have to put all of my time and money and energy into studying for finals of these stupid lib ed classes I’m in right now that I do not care about at all whatsoever.

Needless to say, the Packers are still kicking ASS and are undefeated and I’m loving it. I don’t even care that the Brewers fucked up n didn’t get to go to the world series, I’m over it. The badgers are still good enough to at least beat MN every time they play them, and the Pack is what I really care about. It’s still WINsconsin to me. 🙂

Most importantly, I have a pretty important birthday coming up that I am sooooo excited for. I’m amped because my birthday always means Christmas is right around the corner, which means so is New Years and boarding season. I basically love my life.

Peaceeee.

Pilot

I don’t know what exactly the point of this is but I saw it and thought it was hilarious seeing as I love airplanes and I’m from Wisconsin and therefore I love cheese.
Okay so I have a bunch of appointments with advisors and other random people within the next few weeks because I absolutely have to pick a major. I just want to do everything so I can’t pick just one thing. I have all of my lib ed’s done after this semester and it’s like extremely necessary to decide on what I want to do with my life and I have no idea. It might seem out of character because I’m such a creative soul but my absolute dream job would to be a pilot but I can’t do that at my school. Ahhh.

I really believe in using thinspiration as a source of strength and empowerment, not for negatively putting yourself down. Everything is okay in moderation. Food, exercise, sleep, everything.

Namaste!

Giftspiration – Forever Flowers & Accordion Box

So while my grandpa was in the hospital, my grandma spent so much time going back and forth to the hospital, making sure he was okay. But I suspect that it was almost a break for her considering how much she does for him on a daily basis. I know how much she does for him and for everyone. She loves to take care of people and never expects anything in return. She seriously inspires me so much. So I made her “forever flowers”. They’re made out of tissue paper. I just folded the tissue paper a bunch of times and tied it with wire in the middle and opened up the folds. I tied the extra wire all together and stuck it into a styrofoam chunk from inside the vase of some other fake flowers from my house. I got the pail at Michaels.

I was inspired by this for the Accordion Box which instead of putting a collection of things on each fold, I used it as a card to write a special message.

I didn’t take a picture of the inside of the one I made but you can see the box in the flowers.

Here are some other accordion inspired crafts! :

Glue the envelopes together to make a card with a bunch of pockets. (Via Martha)

Take apart an old book from where you traveled to and make an accordion scrapbook. (Via Martha)

Or cover an old book with a map if you went to more than one place!

Wish I had a tutorial on h0w to do this! It looks so cool.

Enjoy!
