Warm Weather? Yellow & Tan Fashion Inspo

It’s so hard to accept that it’s the end of October considering both at home and up at school it’s been so ridiculously nice out! I’m still in summer mode. I’m going to be super shocked when it actually gets cold because we’re all getting so spoiled.

Why Blog?

I thought I’d take a little time for reflection as my first week of blogging comes to a close. I’ve had an explosion of hundreds of views this week, which was compleeetteely unexpected. I started this as a way to organize all of the inspiration I have, but I love how inspired everyone else has been by it! I feel so blessed everytime I get an email or a comment or a subscriber because I know that I’m inspiring other people. It’s really motivating. This week was a trial run, and I’m glad I decided to go public with it instead of just organizing it all in some other way and keeping it to myself. I’ve not only been able to share my ideas and inspo with everyone, but people have been sharing stuff with me! I’ve read so much about people using blogging as first just for fun and then eventually into their job, and I can see how they made that decision! It’s addicting! I’ve always been a good writer, and I hope to maybe someday do that as well. I got some feedback from a close person in my life who is in the field of HR that was definitely different from most of the responses, and that was that posting things on a blog about my life is going to be detrimental to finding a job some day. I really have no idea what field I’m actually going to end up in, but I really hope whatever I choose is going to be a place in which they can read my blog and be inspired, rather than judge me for what I post. All I know is everyone seems to be enjoying it, and I definitely am! So keep checking back or subscribe to get emailed when I post new things. A word of advice on that, I’m trying to get a bunch of posts out a day right now while I have nothing better to do in the summer and to really get a lot of content on here, so I’d select the option to get my emails once a week so I don’t overload your inbox and annoy the shit out of you! 🙂

Everyone knows summer comes with camp fires and camp fires obviously come with s’mores! I’m actually a huge fan of chocolate, graham crackers, and marshmallows, but for some reason I don’t like them together in the typical s’mores fashion! So I’ve been looking different for ways to combine them.

I love this tablescape! From http://blog.amyatlas.com/2011/02/smores-magazine-shoot/
Martha Stewart’s S’mores Cookies

  • 1/2 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour, (spooned and leveled)
  • 1 cup whole-wheat flour (spooned and leveled)
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 3/4 cup light-brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 8 ounces bittersweet or semisweet chocolate, cut into 30 squares
  • 15 large marshmallows, halved horizontally

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a food processor, pulse oats until finely ground. Add flours, cinnamon, baking soda, and salt; pulse to combine. In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg, scraping down side of bowl. With mixer on low, beat in flour mixture just until combined.
  2. Drop dough by tablespoons, 1 inch apart, onto two baking sheets. Top each with a chocolate square. Bake just until lightly golden, 11 to 13 minutes, rotating sheets halfway through. Remove sheets from oven; heat broiler. Top each cookie with a marshmallow. One sheet at a time, broil until marshmallows are lightly browned, 1 to 1 1/2 minutes. Transfer cookies to wire racks to cool.

A super cute idea for a party theme right now is watermelon!

Watermelon Picnic Basket

Watermelon Sherbert Slice

Watermelon Nailpolish

Stickin to the theme.

Whoa, Dude. Mister Turtle is my father. The name’s Crush.

How do people come up with this shit?!

Classy lookin balls.

It’s not a party without cake..

Watermelon is so versatile. You can do alot with the colors, the watermelon itself, or even fake watermelon flavor like in candy and vodka.

Love itttt!

Have a wonderful day 🙂

Summer Lovin’

I love how summer is always so full of love. There are weddings, vacations, family parties, and so many other events that are bursting with love. What comes along with all of those events? Beautiful pictures. I don’t know if it’s my artistic eye, or the fact that a few of my close friends are photographers, but I absolutely love good photography. And there is definitely no shortage of wedding blogs that showcase stunning love-filled photos.

Ever since I saw this I have been determined to take a picture like this some day!

This is stunning! I wonder how they were able to get that personalized message?!

Ahhhh. Passion is huge for success in any aspect, especially in relationships. I love when it’s visible in pictures.

Comfortablity. It can be a bad thing in toxic relationships, but when it’s with the right one, nothing beats the feeling of being 100% comfortable with someone.

I’m so glad that the trends in wedding photography have morphed into showing people’s personalities.

This is the most breathtaking engagement picture I’ve ever seen.

Okay seriously? Adorable.

I have a few weddings to go to in the next few weeks. I can’t wait! I love weddings because there is always so much love in the air. Everyone’s happy. Even people who have had a bad day, or have drama with some other guest who is attending. I love to watch to the newlyweds look into each other’s eyes with hope and know that they have the full intent of spending the rest of their lives together. I realize that there are high divorce rates and whatever, but in that moment you can tell that they have confidence in their relationship and motivation to be the best they can be and bring out the best in each other. This is a concept that seems so foreign when I think of the types of non-serious relationships that my friends and I have been through since we started dating. I’m looking forward to the day when I find that spark with someone.

I probably have hundreds of photos that I’ve stumbled upon that I just want to compile and show to whoever takes my wedding pictures and tell them that I want to just copy every single one of them haha.

Love the dress. Love the hair. Love the flowers. Love the composition, specifically how great their outfits fit in the colors of the background.

Oh my Godddd I adore boudoir pictures. How cute would it be to make a book with a bunch of sexy pictures as a wedding gift for a husband? I’ll probably make another post of just boudoir pictures. 🙂

Hahahaha. I will definitely be taking this exact picture at my wedding.

I’m so happy for all the couples who I know who are getting married, but at the same time, I’m so glad that I’m not in their shoes right now. I’m glad I have some time to myself right now to do some soul-searching. I’ll leave it to Carrie to explain my point:

“Later that day I got to thinking about relationships. There are those that open you up to something new and exotic, those that are old and familiar, those that bring up lots of questions, those that bring you somewhere unexpected, those that bring you far from where you started, and those that bring you back. But the most exciting, challenging and significant relationship of all is the one you have with yourself. And if you can find someone to love the you you love, well, that’s just fabulous.”

So to wrap it up, I’m so happy it’s summer beacuse there’s no denying the sexiness of the season.

Blondes Have More Fun!

I don’t know who came up with the phrase “blondes have more fun”, but we for sure do! I’m blonde! I used to dye my hair all the time in middle school and the beginning of high school. I’ve seriously tried every color. Then I went back to my natural dark brown (well, I should say black) for yeeaarrrs. I really liked the long, dark, Kardashian look. At the same time, my ex boyfriend said he hated blondes. Not going to lie it felt a little liberating 🙂

Speaking of changes, my sister Chrissy and I just got a free week at Bally’s. I’m so motivated, especially considering all of the weddings I need to look good for.

(Love her makeup.) I’ve never had a problem with sweets. It’s salt and carbs that get to me. I usually eat pretty balanced meals, that is if someone is cooking for me. Up at school I struggle a lot to find things that are easy, cheap, good, and are made in small portions so I don’t have to eat leftovers all week. So I began to mindlessly snack a lot. And let me tell you it’s a hard habit to break. Not to mention being in a sorority has landed me a lot of friends in fraternities, and that obviously comes with drinking large quantities of beer.

I recently downloaded the “My Fitness Pal” app on my iPhone, and it’s awesomeee! I love how easy it is to track what I eat and what exercise I do. I had no idea how much I really ate.

I’ve never had a problem sticking to a plan, it’s getting started I suck at. So hopefully now that I’ve began I will feel healthier and happier. I’m seriously such a strong believer in a holistic approach to health.

I guess the only issue I ever do have with working out is that I expect results that just aren’t attainable for my body type. I have big hair, big hips, and a big butt. I’m of Italian blood and I’ll never be tall and skinny. And although the high school version of me would never be able to say this, I’m gradually becoming okay with this fact.

It takes a lottttt of maturity and patience to be able to be okay with your limitations. Especially if you are like me and are always trying to better yourself in order to be the best.

Speaking of holistic health, check out my cousin Chelsea’s blog! http://ourmotherhood.blogspot.com/!
