Confidence

So the last few months have been pivotal for the changes I had planned on making in my life. I’m proud to say I have made a lot of key changes that have had extremely good results. The main issue that I’ve been dealing with is being resilient in the face of negative influences. I think the main thing I’ve learned is that if someone is always being negative and talking about what they hate about themselves/the world around them, that people are going to start believing them. If you hate yourself, everyone else is going to eventually as well. I know it’s not easy for some people to be confident, but I truly believe it’s the sole factor that will motivate you to do what you need/want to do.

If there’s anything I’ve learned in college / living in a house with 30+ girls, it’s that everyone is fuckin weird. And it’s so annoying that people get all hung up on their weirdness. Once you embrace how weird / embarrassing everything you do is, you’ll realize just how weird the world is, and it’s liberating as hell.

I truly feel that one you realize how awesome you are, other people will see it. That leads to strong friendships, good romantic relationships, lasting business connections, and overall you’ll get respect from anyone you meet.

Basically just decide what you want to be and do, and then rock it.

My friend Kristin (Kristin’s In Rome) and I have recently started a personal campaign for Charity:Water called Gelato’d In Rome. She is studying abroad in Rome, and I am working on the campaign stateside. The non-profit organization provides third-world countries with ways to get clean drinking water. This is something that I have become very passionate about, so we are trying to raise $1,000. That will help 50 people! I am asking for donations in ANY amount. Even a dollar can help. Sexy Winter Makeup

So in keeping with New Years traditions, I’m going to switch things up, and go in a new direction with this blog. Since before a lot of the reason I did this was to organize my inspiration, I don’t really need to do that now because of pinterest. Since I finally decided what to do with my life (event planning) I’m going to a lot of posts about that and my own craft/DIY projects. I think I’m going to do more writing as well. There will still be random posts about like food and fashion and everything, but I just want to get a little more specific.

MY BIRTHDAY!

Zomg I’m another year old!

Vanity

Alright so I’m going to show you guys what I did for these crafts:

Bought this frame at Good Will for under a dollar. I originally wanted to just do the inside yellow and keep the gray border, but the spray paint kindof got everywhere and it just turned out to be a hassle.

So I had a paper towel by this to wipe the spray paint off my hands, and the wind blew it onto the frame and made these weird marks and when I tried spray painting over it, you could still tell. So I just did it all over and it ended up looking kindof cool.

I couldn’t figure out how to get the hooks into the frame to hold the necklaces so I just hooked them over the top. It looked great for recruitment, but it ended up being kindof a pain in the ass, so it’s currently being unused on the top shelf of my closet. I’m going to take it home to have my Dad help me over break. Let me know if you have any suggestions!

How to Make a Shared Room Cute (Sorority / Dorm Room)

So, when you share a room with 3 other people and have to deal with 2 bunk beds and numerous dressers and everyone’s shit, you have to make it cute, especially for sorority recruitment. My sorority house is a Historical Landmark, so we can’t paint or do anything to make it look more modern because it has too look like it originally did. I have a love-hate relationship with this fact because I loveeee modern decor. Here’s what I did to make my little niche cute.

You’re Da Bomb Favors

So I’m a dumbass and forgot to take a picture of my final product but this is what inspired me to make my You’re Da Bomb favors for all of our new pledges for Initiation.

We have this tradition where we set out little goodie bags and throughout our I-Week, the older members put all sorts of cute little goodies in there for all of the girls. It ranges from candy to notes to mixed-tape style cd’s, you name it. Here’s what I did:

I guess I’m not the only dumbass because I just noticed that the ones I was inspired by isn’t even grammatically correct. (Your the bomb) haha.

What Makes Celebrities Gorgeous

I’m sure most of you have wondered exactly what it is that make celebrities look so perfect all of the time. I know a lot of them are just overall good looking people, but they clearly have the money to look good 24/7. How exactly do they do this? It’s a question that magazines and TV shows attempt to answer all the time, and it’s really a lot more obvious then you might think. Eyebrows. Yep. Doing your eyebrows is the thing that will take you from looking average to looking really fuckin good. I mean I think all of you realize it’s necessary to tweeze/get waxed/get threaded, but there’s more to it than that. You need to get a brow pencil and for a lot of you, something to tame them. A lot of times people’s eyebrows are overplucked but not sculpted. I’m going to try to find or do a tutorial on this for a future post. For now, here are some pictures that help explain why this is so necessary to looking good:

Eyebrows are vital to shaping your face and giving you that stunning beauty that celebrities always seem to posess.

They actually look scary and almost unrecognizable without eyebrows. Obviously I’m aware that you’re not starting from scratch with no eyebrows, but not doing anything to your ‘brows is not much better.

This girl has the right idea:

I love everything about her makeup. Everything is done to look completely natural. You might even guess she isn’t wearing a lot of makeup. I guarantee she is, but she just knows exactly how to do it so it looks natural.

Notice that none of these girls look like they’ve went over the top with their makeup. It looks natural so when you look at her you’re like damn she’s really pretty. I’m telling you.. it’s all about the ‘brows.

Here is the difference between a natural eyebrow and one that has been touched up with makeup.

There isn’t one shape or color that I can vouch for as the best. You really need to use your best judgement as far as what looks good in relation to your face shape and your complexion color. This isn’t saying that you can’t go wrong, because you forsure can:

Obviously this is very over-dramatic, but honestly look around and you’ll see women who don’t look to far off from this.

Although when you look through pop culture you’ll notice a lot of people rocking the darker ‘brow with light hair, there is a line you definitely shouldn’t cross. Her eyebrows are black and penciled in, and her hair is as light as it gets. This is a great example of what NOT to do.

So yeah I’ll get a tutorial up as soon as I can to give you all some more ideas on how to shape your face via your eyebrows! 🙂

Belated Thanksgiving Post

My Thanksgiving break couldn’t have come at a better time. I’m in that point of the semester where I’m just about checked out of school. It seems almost everyone I’ve talked to is in that same boat, which is comforting (knowing I’m not alone) but also kindof bad. I was so excited to see my family and do some Black Friday shopping. My dad and sisters surprised me by building me a room! When I went off to college my youngest sisters used to share a room but one of them took my old room, so when I’d come home for breaks I was sleeping on the couch and it sucked. Not gonna lie, I definitely let everyone know how much I hated it. But I never in a million years expected anyone to do anything about it! It’s not completely done, and I’m excited because I always need a project to work on and it has become my winter break project for this year. I’ll for sure have a lot of pictures up.

Here is some random Thanksgiving stuff I came across online and liked. Keep checking back because I’m FINALLY going to post all of the furniture up-cycles I’ve done, and a bunch of awesome gift ideas from our initiation week.
